The study trip to Gangtok, Sikkim, under – Easy Travels Solution Private Limited agency was a resounding success, providing 14 history students from the 6th semester, including both major and minor students, with a unique opportunity to explore the state’s rich cultural heritage and historical significance. The trip, which took place from the 17th to the 21st of April, was accompanied by two Assistant Professors, Nungsangmongla Ozukum from the Department of History and Vilbonu from the Department of Sociology.


Students visited several famous sites during the trip, such as palaces, botanical gardens, waterfalls, and monasteries. Students were given an insight into the area’s spiritual heritage through the monasteries’ elaborate architecture and tranquil surroundings. The waterfalls, with their breathtaking beauty, were a testament to the state’s natural splendour. The botanical garden, with its diverse flora, showcased the region’s rich biodiversity. The palace, with its historical significance and architectural grandeur, gave students a glimpse into the region’s royal past.

The purpose of the trip was to give the students a thorough understanding of the geography, history, and culture of Sikkim. Students had the opportunity to learn about the area’s rich history, customs, and scenic beauty during the trip.


The chance for students to engage with local communities and learn about their daily routines, traditions, and customs was one of the trip’s highlights. They gained a broader perspective and a better comprehension of the subtle cultural differences of the area as a result of this exposure. Along with fostering friendships between students and faculty, the trip strengthened group ties and produced enduring memories.


The presence of both history and sociology professors facilitated an interdisciplinary approach to learning, enabling students to analyze and appreciate the region’s history and culture from multiple perspectives.
