Event 1: Spring semester, April 2026
An Anti-Ragging Awareness Session was conducted on April 9, 2026, in the college auditorium by the Anti-Ragging cell. The objective of the event was sensitizing students about the issue of ragging in educational institutions.
During the session, Mr Keyolel, assistant coordinator of the cell, elaborated on the various levels and forms of ragging that commonly occur in colleges and similar institutions. He provided a detailed explanation of how ragging can range from seemingly minor acts to more serious forms of harassment, emphasizing its psychological and emotional impact on students. He also highlighted the legal framework surrounding ragging, informing students about the strict measures and consequences imposed under the law for those found guilty of such acts.
The session aimed not only at creating awareness but also at creating a culture of respect, empathy, and responsibility among students. In addition, students were encouraged to actively participate in promoting anti-ragging messages by putting up creative and educational content on their bulletin boards. This initiative was suggested as a means to reinforce awareness and ensure continuous engagement with the subject.
Overall, the session was informative and impactful, successfully addressing the seriousness of ragging and encouraging students to contribute towards maintaining a safe and supportive academic environment.
