5th April 2023
The Horticulture group members along with the Managing Director visited the farm at Sovima village, Dimapur twice. Everyone participated enthusiastically in these two times of visits. A variety of activities were staged. On the first visit, 22nd October 2022, we, the students, took part in ploughing the soil, sowing different kinds of seeds and watering them. And on the second visit, 1st February 2023, we saw that the vegetables like cabbages, beans and other seeds that we sowed very beautifully grown because of the immense care by the workers there. Then, we cleaned the farm and our Managing Director allowed us to take home one cabbage each which was very kind of her and for which we were very thankful. Then we took pictures in the midst of the farm holding the cabbages given to us.
Spending time on farm reminded me to have greater appreciation and value for food because of the hard work and effort put into planning, growing, and caring for vegetables. And I also got to learn the responsibility required for the organic products of farm-grown foods.
Lastly, I am very thankful to our college institution and our Managing Director for giving us such an opportunity to visit their farm and learn about the organic food, work, responsibility and experience and enjoy the beautiful nature of the farm.
