On the 20th of April 2024, the Art Club of Norman Putsure College embarked on an enriching excursion to the Nagaland State Museum in Kohima. Accompanied by 26 students and 3 teachers from the Art Club, the trip aimed to immerse participants in the cultural heritage of the region.
Nagaland State Museum: The visit to the Nagaland State Museum provided students with an insightful journey through the rich history and diverse cultural traditions of Nagaland. Exhibits showcasing indigenous artefacts, traditional attire, and tribal customs offered a captivating glimpse into the heritage of the region, enriching the learning experience for all participants.
Reiphinyu Badze Resort: Following the museum visit, the group proceeded to Reiphinyu Badze Resort, where they enjoyed lunch amidst the scenic surroundings of Kohima. Students also took the opportunity to engage in a friendly game of basketball, fostering friendship and physical activity among peers.
On the journey back home, the Art Club made a stop to explore local flower vendors, allowing students to admire and purchase vibrant blooms indigenous to the region. This added dimension to the excursion provided students with a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty of Nagaland.
The excursion to the Nagaland State Museum and Reiphinyu Badze Resort proved to be a memorable and enriching experience for all participants. It not only offered valuable insights into the cultural heritage of Nagaland but also provided opportunities for recreation among students. The Art Club looks forward to organising similar excursions in the future to further enrich the artistic and cultural experiences of its members.
