The Department of History, Norman Putsure College organized a one day seminar on the topic “Speech and Hearing Disorder – Its History and Advancements”, on 13th September 2024 with Ms. Henwasin Sweety Lorin (Sr. Audiologist & Speech Language Pathologist) as the keynote speaker.

Ms. Sweety Lorin an expert in the field delivered an insightful lecture focusing on the historical progression of speech and hearing disorders, shedding light on the treatments that have been used across different periods. She emphasized how the understanding of these disorders has evolved over time, leading to more sophisticated and effective treatments through the use of high tech. In addition, the resource person also shared valuable insights on how educational institution intervention in helping differently abled children. The topic Speech and Hearing Disorder which is part of the linguistic subject curriculum is also academically inclined and it gave significant importance to both practical and theoretical knowledge.

The seminar was attended by students and faculties of the History Department, who actively engaged with the topic through discussions and queries.
