The Department of History organised a study tour to Khonoma, India’s first green village, on 3rd August 2024. A total of 50 students, accompanied by three assistant professors from the department, participated in the tour.
Upon arrival, the group was greeted by a knowledgeable tour guide who provided a comprehensive and detailed explanation of the village’s various attractions. The guide’s expertise enabled the students to gain a deeper understanding of the village’s history, culture, and significance.
The tour proved to be an enriching experience for the students, offering a unique opportunity to explore and learn about Khonoma’s distinctive features. The visit aligns with the department’s objective of providing hands-on learning experiences that complement classroom instruction.
The success of the tour is attributed to the meticulous planning and organisation by the department faculty, as well as the active participation of the students. The department looks forward to organising similar study tours in the future, further enhancing the academic experience of its students.
