WOMEN’S CELL, NPC
The women’s cell at Norman Putsure College looks after the welfare of the female students. It is a platform where all women can express their needs and grievances. The cell also initiates concrete steps to ensure that all women in the college feel safe and secure, free from discrimination and gender inequality.
Mission: To enlighten women to strive towards empowerment through various programs.
Objectives:
- To deal with any instances of discrimination against women or sexual harassment.
- To provide a platform for listening to complaints and redressing grievances.
- To incorporate hygienic habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.
- To create awareness, instill values, and develop personality and leadership skills.

Report on Women Cell
International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October 2022
On this day, Women Cell, in collaboration with the Art Club, observed the International Day of the Girl Child under the theme “Our Time is Now—Our Right, Our Future.”
This day was observed in order to recognize girl child rights and increase awareness of the gender inequality faced by girls worldwide.
Activities conducted:
- Each club member from the college participated in a number of activities, such as drama, dance, and speech, based on the theme of the day, viz., “Our Time is Now—Our Right, Our Future.”

The aims and objectives of the Students’ Council are:
- To officially represent all the students in the institute.
- To identify and help solve problems encountered by students in the institute.
- To inform students about any subject that concerns them.
- To maintain good relations, out of mutual respect, with the institute staff (the director, teaching personnel, and non-teaching personnel).
- To promote the interests of students among the institute administration and staff.
- To communicate its opinion to the institute administration on any subject that concerns students and on which the council wishes to be consulted.

RED RIBBON CLUB

Introduction of Red Ribbon Club and a One Day Seminar on HIV/AIDS Awareness On February 15, 2023
On February 15, 2023, the Red Ribbon Club conducted an introduction to the club and a one-day seminar on HIV/AIDS awareness on the college campus with Mr. Orenthung Ngullie, Supervisor, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, Dimapur, as the resource person. Mr. Kholi Dolf, Lecturer, First Aid and Home Nursing, St. John Ambulance Association, India, also came as a special guest.
The program began with Lalolle Medo as the host and an invocation by Kevinoli Zhimomi. The college principal, Dr. Timothy, also shared how the college had wished to introduce the RRC and gave an introduction to the Star Members as he wished them all the very best in their responsibilities.
The resource person gave a presentation on the Red Ribbon Club, its inception, objectives, and the progress of RRC in Nagaland. He then talked about awareness about HIV/AIDS and blood donation. He encouraged all the attendees to care, hope, and support those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
He also mentioned the procedures on how to donate blood and encouraged all to be responsible citizens and take the initiative to care, support, and spread awareness. The club had an insightful program that came to an end with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor, Miss Roselyn Kithan (Nodal Officer, RRC), and photo sessions.
