Norman Putsure College, Chumoukedima held its first graduation day on the 4th of October 2025 at the college premises at 10:00 a.m. The event was graced by Sentiyanger Pongen, Additional Secretary, Higher & Technical Education of Nagaland as the chief guest accompanied by Longshi Kikon, Councillor, ward 7, Chumoukedima with Dr. Eastrose Miachieo, Assistant Professor, Department of History as the chairperson.
Dr. K. Timothy Langwangbe, Principal of the college delivered the welcome address declaring the first graduation day as a red letter day, celebrating the achievements of the class of 2025. In the address by the Managing Director, Saneinuo Putsure highlighted the vision behind the college, the zeal and dedication displayed by the founding members of the institution. She talked about how the first batch of students hold a special place in her heart and cheered the students to be bright and bold in life and remember God’s purpose for them. Congratulatory video messages to the class of 2025, from the Chairperson, Aseiu Putsure and the Co-Chairperson, Seyie Putsure, both based in the USA were projected to the audience.
In the speech by Er. Fury Putsure, the former congratulated the outgoing students, faculty and management for their hard work and dedication in producing the first graduating batch of the institution. He wished the students success for their future and advised them to think bright and support the college, emphasising on how the college supports them as well.
Fuchumlo T. Tsanglao, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology reminisced about how the class of 2025 started their journey at Norman Putsure, blooming into individuals who have a bright future ahead with a capacity for greatness in all things.
The valedictorian of the event, Orenvungi Tsanglao of the department of Sociology, talked about how the event is a turning point for her and her batchmates. She remarked on how Norman Putsure College has not only provided education but also a home where students were guided and helped to navigate the highs and lows of life. Tsanglao thanked the faculty and management for their sacrifice and love, stating how the bonds and memories the class of 2025 have made will always remain with them.
The chief guest of the event, Sentiyanger Pongen, reminded the graduating batch on the importance of hard work and perseverance in a competitive and ever changing world. He urged the students to innovate and adapt alongside academic achievements. He also stressed on the importance of entrepreneurship, encouraging the students to dream and start with humble beginnings. Above all he exhorted the class of 2025 to seize the day, seek advice from elders and walk under God’s guidance and wisdom in everything so as to become leaders of the nation.
The presentation of awards and certificates was carried out by Nungsangmongla Ozukum, Assistant Professor, department of History, after which the vote of thanks was delivered by Repamenla, Assistant Professor, department of Education. The first graduation day of Norman Putsure College also witnessed performances by the present batch of students and the event was finally closed by Lorence Ngushe, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology with a word of prayer.
