Norman Putsure College, Department of History hosted the 1st History Fest with the theme “Embracing Heritage through Tradition” on August 30, 2025.


The event saw vigorous participation from 53 students, accompanied by 3 dedicated assistant professors.
The esteemed invitees included the Principal and Managing Director of the college.


The fest was divided into two segments.
The formal segment featured an insightful address by the Principal, who emphasised the importance of embracing our cultural heritage and traditions.


The second segment was a competition segment where students from the department were divided into four groups- Mithun Mavericks, Rhino Rangers, Hornbill Guardians, and Tragopan Vanguard.


The groups competed in various events, including quiz, debates, drama performances based on Naga folk tales, and extempore speaking.


After thrilling competitions, the Rhino Rangers emerged as the ultimate winners, lifting the trophy.
The History Fest served as a platform for students to explore and appreciate their cultural heritage, while also fostering teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.
