Norman Putsure College, Chumoukedima has observed ” World Mental Health Day ” with Ms. Beni Seb, currently working as early Interventionist for children with development delays as the speaker on 10th of October ,2023, at the college auditorium. The College in aligning with the theme “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right” of World Mental Health Day raises awareness regarding mental health issues amongst the students and young adults. The Speaker talked about various types of mental illnesses and emphasized that Overall wellness of individuals are important in order to maintain mental well-being.
The Speaker talked about multifaceted approach/ models to tackle mental health issues such as BPS model and also advised the Students to open up, seek help, consult professionals instead of suppressing/ ignoring it fearing to be stigmatized.
